Federation Bursaries

The Federation of Museums and Art Galleries of Wales has limited funding available from its Cefni Barnett Fund whose main aim is to support research. The criteria for the Fund are detailed below (please note revised for 2014).

The fund is open to staff working in any museum in membership of the Federation. Applications forms should be obtained from Chris Delaney, Federation Development Officer chris@btinternet.com

 Cefni Barnett Fund – criteria

1. The Cefni Barnett Fund is available in the form of small bursaries of not more than £500 to cover legitimate costs and expenses related to museum object based research undertaken by members. Attendance at recognised professional conferences and seminars can be eligible but only if it specifically relates to the research.

2. Research must be on a museum related topic that assists the applicant in the enhancement of their professional education.

3. Priority will be given to projects that advance the concept of a Distributed National Collection.

Conditions

a) The Cefni Barnett Fund is available to all members of the Federation.

b) Application forms available from the Federation Development Officer; Chris Delaney.  lin.chris@btinternet.com

Claims for approved grants to be made within agreed timescales and accompanied by relevant receipts.

c) Prepare a brief report of no more than 1,000 words on the results of the research. This should be available for publication in the Federation newsletter Y Mag if considered appropriate by Hon Editor(s).

Payment

Payment will be made on production of invoices and only in exception circumstances will any advance payment be made.
