Artefact - Museums and Creativity for better mental health. Can creative engagement in museums improve the mental health and wellbeing of people experiencing mental distress? Arteffact is a project run by four museums in North Wales (UK). It was specifically aimed at people age 18 and over. Participants had the possibility to sign up for a course of 10 workshops over 10 weeks lead by an experienced artist. These workshops took place in museums and galleries, finding inspiration in art and historical artefacts. The workshops aimed to help people regain their confidence, enjoy developing new skills, relax, learn about art and meet other people while involved in a positive activity.
